Tron: Legacy- The System has Rebooted
April 11th 2010 19:31
Corporate culture is back, at least in this remake of the 1980s original Tron. Another remake, you say? Tired of Hollywood's rehash of the same old 80's sci fi plots? Well, bold viewer, ask a different question: What is 80's sci-fi special effects? The answer, of course, is nothing compared to that spiffy light cycle displayed in the trailer. 'But I'm too old to understand the youth and their com-pu-ter references!' Not to worry, senior citizen, for we've included a little introduction to the plot for you below!
Our hard working protagonist Kevin Flynn is a simple software engineer, who has been for the corporation ENCOM. On the side, he is developing some video games which he makes using the company's equipment. He even has a dream of opening a video arcade someday. But that's much to happy for any good story involving big business and intelligent computers. So, a programmer named Ed Dillinger finds Flynn's games, locks Flynn out, and presents them as his own, and management starts throwing him promotions out the wazoo. And to cover it up, he fires Flynn too.
Clearly not discouraged by this utterly bad day at the office, Kevin embarks on an ambitious program to get revenge, finding himself in the digital world of the internet and battling against the true enemy: ENCOM's cyber totalitarian-for-your-protect ion enforcer of security and its own advancement. Hey, a self aware Master Control Program, what could possibly go wrong...
Although little is known about this movie. We do know that 2009 academy award winner will be starring as Jeff Bridges. We also know that Olivia Wilde from the tv drama house will also be starring in this film. Overall the designs and the special effects look great. It should be a movie worth seeing. Filmenator should be getting some updates as the release date draws nearer and nearer
