Any successful movie like Iron Man is bound to get a sequel... and Iron Man 2 is just that. The first movie left us hanging on the press conference where Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) revealed to the world that he is the Iron Man. We were all wondering what would happen next and even more importantly WHEN will the story continue. And now we have the answer. On May 7th Iron Man 2 will be hitting theaters. However Terrence Howard has left the cast of Iron Man 2 after his contract negotiations failed. Therefore his character of Rhodey will be played by Don Cheadle.
Tony Stark has been living the life of fame. He shows off his iron man suit constantly using it to gain popularity, fame, and money. However a shady man (Mickey Rourke) is shown building a device similar to the iron man suit. He is shown building the exact same arc reactor to power his makeshift suit. He then names himself as whiplash. This causes the United States military to be alarmed and demands the blueprints for Tony Starks iron man suit. Tony Stark declines saying that the blueprints might end up in the wrong hands and cause massive damage to the world. After refusing to turn over the Iron Man armor technology to the United States military, a mysterious benefactor aids whiplash in building a weapon that can effectively obsolete the Iron Man. The trailer even goes so far as to show a small band of new Armor suits doing battle against Tony and his friend in the military, Col James Rhodes, (Don Cheedle) Whom is found wearing a slick new black and silver suit, fitted with machine guns and a back mounted minigun, appropriately dubbed the "War Machine."

Much of the cast returns as well as the addition of new characters played by Scarlet Johansson and Samuel L Jackson, among various other actors including academy award nominee and golden globe winner Mickey Rourke. He plays the role of Whiplash as previously mentioned. Another addition to the cast is Sam Rockwell playing the role of Justin Hammer, the benefactor that aids whiplash
All things considered, this is hands down going to be a huge movie event, sure to grip the future audience with palladium generated lasers, high tech armors jetting around at mach speeds, and an arsenal of other weapons.
