Catch Me If You Can brings together the classic Hollywood trio of director Stephen Spielberg and actors Leonardo Dicaprio and Tom Hanks to tell the real life story of one of the finest con artiste of our time– Frank Abangale Jr.

When Frank Abangale Sr. runs into trouble with the IRS and his marriage breaks down, his highschooler son is asked to choose with which of his parents he wants to live. It is a question which Frank Abangale Jr. cannot answer and runs away from both of them. But little does he know, that from that day onwards he will never cease running for his freedom.

Pressed for resources, Abangale discovers that while his role model, his father wan merely mediocre, he had real talent when it came fraud. He rampantly forges documents and successfully impersonates a Pan American pilot, a doctor and a lawyer and even manages to woo a nurse and marries her.

But the police, represented by the ever resourceful Detective Carl Hanratty of the FBI is close on Frank’s trials missing by whiskers time after time until Frank’s luck finally runs and is caught by the French. He is tried for forging bank checks amounting to an aggregate of $4000000, tried, found guilty and jailed.

Brought back to USA by the fatherly Carl Hanratty (who is as keen to look after Frank’s welfare as he is to catch him) Frank is offered a job by the FBI. He must disclose his operational procedures and help the police catch other forgers.

Catch Me If You Can is a very entertaining and fast paced movie studded with brilliant witticism and backed by predictably great performances from Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio. However, if you are looking for intense action and lots of blood, this movie is not for you. It is a delightful comfort watch and must see for people who enjoyed After the Sunset or The Thomas Crown Affair.
